CNT Revolutionized Addiction Treatment Increased Efficancy & Access

Dr. Indra Cidambi, M.D., double board-certified in Addiction Medicine and Psychiatry, founded CNT to make addiction treatment accessible for everyone. She pioneered Outpatient Detox for substances like alcohol, benzodiazepines, opiates, anesthetics, and stimulants, enabling individuals—homemakers, professionals, and students—to seek treatment with minimal disruption to their lives. This innovative approach aligns addiction care with the “disease model,” offering a groundbreaking alternative to traditional inpatient detox. Dr. Cidambi’s work has been recognized by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) for proving Outpatient Detox is both safe and effective.
Dr. Cidambi's innovative addiction treatment model is highly effective as it integrates the patients' real-life environment into treatment. Until recently, inpatient detoxification was the standard for treating addiction, but it often led to less-than-optimal results because treatment was isolated from real life. This led to difficulties in applying relapse prevention techniques once treatment ended and caused frequent relapses and a repetitive cycle of seeking treatment. CNT's innovative Outpatient Detox approach allows individuals to receive high-quality care while remaining in their everyday environments, making it easier to incorporate relapse prevention skills and coping mechanisms into their daily lives. CNT’s approach has been proven to deliver superior outcomes compared to inpatient addiction treatment.
Dr. Indra Cidambi, M.D., double board-certified in Addiction Medicine and board- certified in general psychiatry, founded CNT with a mission to make addiction treatment accessible to every individual who needed it. She was the first to innovate to Outpatient Detox for all substances – alcohol, benzos, opiates & anesthetics – that made it possible for homemakers, single mothers, professionals, and students to access addiction treatment for alcohol withdrawal, benzo withdrawal, opiate withdrawal, and anesthetic withdrawal with minimal disruption to caring for their family, keeping up with work, or continuing with academic commitments. Previous to this modernization of addiction treatment, alcohol & drug detoxification was almost exclusively provided in an inpatient setting which required individuals suffering from addiction to drop their life in order to get treatment. Also, this shift in treatment aligns drug and alcohol treatment with the “disease model” of addiction, offering a groundbreaking alternative to the traditional inpatient approach.
Contemporary outpatient detoxification at CNT allows patients to address challenges as they arise in their living environment, as they are able to work directly with therapists to adjust coping strategies and relapse prevention techniques in real-time. This flexibility ensures that patients can seamlessly integrate new skills into their everyday lives, enhancing the likelihood of sustained recovery.
While it is easy to ask individuals suffering from addiction to drop everything and go inpatient for treatment, it is not easy to do! Arrangements have to be made for child care and other logistics, which postpones access to treatment. Even with careful planning, most patients are worried about how their family is coping in their absence, resulting in less-than-optimal participation in treatment. Our outpatient model is particularly beneficial for individuals with critical responsibilities, such as professionals and homemakers. By offering detoxification and withdrawal management services on an outpatient basis, CNT enables patients to largely continue with their home and work responsibilities while receiving effective addiction treatment. This approach removes the need for extended absences from work or home, making treatment more accessible and less disruptive.
CNT is credentialed and has achieved in-network status with all major health insurance providers, ensuring that patients pay the lowest possible out-of-pocket expenses – oftentimes there is no out-of-pocket cost at all! Our affiliation with health insurance providers like Aetna, AmeriHealth, Anthem BCBS, Beacon Health, Cigna, Emblem BCBS, Horizon BCBS, MagnaCare, Medicaid, Oscar, QualCare, and United Health Care/Optum/Oxford, as well as Emblem GHI, Humana, and Veterans Community Care Network, means minimal deductibles and co-pays for our clients.
At CNT, we understand the pain of withdrawal and prioritize immediate relief by streamlining the admission process for opiate, alcohol, benzodiazepine, stimulant, and anesthetic withdrawal symptoms. By eliminating delays for health insurance authorization, we ensure patients receive timely care. Our specialized detox services also support individuals transitioning off methadone, Suboxone, Subutex, and buprenorphine, helping them manage withdrawal, anxiety, depression, and cravings to overcome dependence and regain independence.
We deliberately limit the number of patients at our facilities in order to deliver customized treatment that meets the unique needs of each patient. While most detox facilities in New Jersey carry over 100 patients, we have designed our programs for the discerning. Small group sizes make for a personalized, intimate, confidential addiction treatment experience.
